چکیده
The phytochemical screening and the antidiarrhoeal activities of the crude extracts from the leaves Landolphiaowariensis were carried out using standard methods. The results of the phytochemical screening showed that the plant contained alkaloids, saponins, tannins, flavonoids and glycosides. The results of the antidiarrhoeal screening of the crude extracts showed that Landolphiaowariensis exhibited zone of inhibition ranging from 15 mm to 35 mm against test microbes. Ethyl-acetate extract of the Landolphiawariensis being the most active fraction was subjected to column chromatography, leading to the isolation of single compound that showed a high activities (zone of inhibition from 8mm to 32mm) against these causative agents of diarrhoea (Salmonella Typhi, Shigelladysentriaeand Escherichaia Colirespectively). Spectroscopic analysis of the isolated compound using HNMR, CNMR, IR and GCMS showed that the compound was Cis-9-Octadecenoic acid. The result of this works therefore showed that the extract from the leaves of Landolphiaowariensis could be used for the treatment of diarrhoea and other diseases caused by targeted microorganisms.

Development of the titanium–TADDOLate-catalyzed asymmetric fluorination of β-ketoesters
Titanium-based Lewis acids catalyze the α-fluorination of β-ketoesters by electrophilic N-F-fluorinating reagents. Asymmetric catalysis with TADDOLato-titanium(IV) dichloride (TADDOL = α,α,α',α'-tetraaryl-(1,3-dioxolane-4,5-diyl)-dimethanol) Lewis acids produces enantiomerically enriched α-fluorinated β-ketoesters in up to 91% enantiomeric excess, with either F-TEDA (1-chloromethyl-4-fluoro-1,4...
متن کاملDBFOX-Ph/metal complexes: Evaluation as catalysts for enantioselective fluorination of 3-(2-arylacetyl)-2-thiazolidinones
We examined the catalytic enantioselective fluorination of 3-(2-arylacetyl)-2-thiazolidinones 1 with N-fluorobenzenesulfonimide (NFSI) by DBFOX-Ph/metal complexes under a variety of conditions. After optimization of the metal salts, solvents and additives, we found that the fluoro-2-thiazolidinones 2 were obtained in good to high yields with moderate to good enantioselectivities (up to 78% ee) ...
متن کاملCatalytic enantioselective fluorination of beta-keto esters by phase-transfer catalysis using chiral quaternary ammonium salts.
[reaction: see text] The catalytic enantioselective electrophilic fluorination promoted by quaternary ammonium salt from cinchonine as a phase-transfer catalyst is described. Treatment of beta-keto esters with N-fluorobenzenesulfonimide as the fluorine source under mild reaction conditions afforded the corresponding alpha-fluoro beta-keto esters in exellent yields with good to moderate enantiom...
متن کاملRadical aminooxygenation of alkenes with N-fluoro-benzenesulfonimide (NFSI) and TEMPONa.
Reaction of various alkenes with commercially available N-fluorobenzenesulfonimide (NFSI) and TEMPONa provides the corresponding aminooxygenation products in moderate to good yields. Single electron transfer from readily generated TEMPONa to NFSI allows for clean generation of the corresponding bissulfonylamidyl radical along with TEMPO. N-radical addition to an alkene and subsequent TEMPO trap...
متن کاملAn unusual occurrence on attempted purine C-8 electrophilic fluorination of 5'-noraristeromycin.
Reaction of the in situ generated purine C-8 carbanion of a protected 5'-noraristeromycin derivative with N-fluorobenzenesulfonimide gave 8-phenylsulfonyl-5'-noraristeromycin rather than the expected 8-fluoro derivative. A single electron transfer (SET) mechanism is proposed for this occurrence. The phenylsulfonyl product offers a structural feature common to some anti-HIV agents. [reaction: se...
